Getting something corrected
Neighbour Notes is a directory. It lists businesses, events and estates around Hartbeespoort so that people can find them. What follows is what that does and does not mean, written plainly, because it is easier to say it once here than to argue about it later.
Almost everything on a business listing comes from the business: its own website, its own social pages, its own signage, or the owner telling us directly. Where a business has not given us anything, we have used what is publicly published about it.
We do not verify it. We do not check whether a description is accurate, whether a price is current, whether the hours are right, or whether a claim a business makes about itself stands up. If a business publishes that it is award winning, family run, certified, or established in a particular year, and that appears here, we are repeating what they published. We are not confirming it.
A listing on Neighbour Notes is not an endorsement, a rating, a review or a recommendation. It means the business exists and serves this area.
We do not vet businesses. We do not check licences, registrations, qualifications, insurance or accreditations, and we are not in a position to. If any of that matters to you, and for a plumber, an electrician, a doctor or anyone working on your house it probably should, ask the business directly and ask to see it.
The businesses at the top of a category and on the home page are the ones whose owners have claimed their listing and checked that it is right. Nobody pays for that position, and any business can get there by claiming its listing, which is free.
Appearing first is not an editorial recommendation, and it gives no protection from a correction. A listing that is wrong gets corrected exactly like any other. This is set out in full on How we choose listings.
Businesses close, move, change hands, change their hours and change their prices. Restaurants stop doing lunch. Trades stop covering an area.
Phone before you drive. That is the most useful sentence on this page.
Events are supplied by whoever is running them. Dates, times, prices and line-ups change, and events get cancelled, sometimes at short notice and sometimes because of weather. Confirm with the organiser before making plans around one.
A special on this site is the business own offer, on the business own terms. We do not set it, hold it, or guarantee it will still be running when you get there. Any conditions attached to it are theirs.
The emergency numbers page is published because having the numbers in one place is useful. They are checked against public sources when the page is built, but numbers change and services change hands.
In a genuine emergency, dial 10111 for police, or 112 from a mobile. Do not rely on this site as your only source.
Where we link to a business own website or social page, that site is theirs, not ours. We do not control what is on it and we are not responsible for it.
Nothing on Neighbour Notes is medical, legal, financial, veterinary, building or safety advice. The directory tells you who is out there. It does not tell you what to do.
Estate pages describe estates in the area using publicly available information and whatever the estate or its HOA has published. Levies, rules, facilities and access arrangements are set by each estate and they change. The estate own HOA is always the authority on its own estate, and its details are on its page.
This matters more than the rest of the page.
If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. That applies to your own business, a competitor listing, an event, a phone number, or anything else.
hello@neighbournotes.co.za, or 073 248 5172.
We would rather be corrected than be wrong, and a correction costs nothing whether or not the business pays for anything.
