ABOUT THE ESTATE
Established in 2000, Estate d’Afrique is one of the most private developments on the Hartbeespoort Dam, built in a French Provençal style that recalls the small villages of the French coast: villas in earthy colours and indigenous rock, cascading water features, cobbled streets, boathouses and private jetties.
The estate’s 310 stands are laid out in three villages: Ville d’Afrique, Port Provence and Beau Rivage. Residents can launch a boat or jet-ski from the estate’s private waterfront, and the Sabrage restaurant in the estate opens Thursday to Sunday.
Mountain, wetland, grassland and river meet here, so the estate carries a wide range of fauna and flora, including duikers, baboons and a resident caracal. Estate d’Afrique is a member of the Magaliesberg Biosphere, a region with some 443 bird species.
