The Friday Edit · No. 1 · Friday 9 October 2026 Good morning, Harties.Welcome to the very first edition of the Friday Edit. After a fantastic launch week, we’ve been so encouraged by the response to Neighbour Notes and by how quickly this little community has started to grow. Harties is home to some truly incredible places and experiences, and so much of what makes this area special is easy to miss if you don’t know where to look. There are great restaurants around the dam, little spots you would never find unless someone told you about them, hikes with views that make you forget you’re only an hour from Joburg, farm stalls worth pulling over for, places to take the kids when they’ve been bouncing off the walls all morning, and the kind of Saturday afternoons that somehow turn into dinner. Neighbour Notes exists to highlight those places and make them a little easier to discover. Every Friday, the Friday Edit will bring you a handful of things worth knowing around the dam. Something happening this weekend. Somewhere new to try. A local business worth knowing about. A hidden gem you may have driven past a hundred times. A little nudge to get out and discover your own backyard. First up: the restaurant that opens Champagne with a sabre. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
